It’s that time of year again and you can go green with coloring your Easter Eggs too. The dying kits you find in your average grocery store contain coal tar and other petroleum-based products. Studies have also found that certain dyes can also cause chromosome damage and cancer.
Start out with using organic, free-range eggs.
Yellow- Mix 2 tsp. of ground turmeric powder with 2/3 cup of boiling water and 1 tsp. of white vinegar. Let mixture cool before coloring.
Purple-1 cup frozen grape juice from concentrate and 1 tsp. of white vinegar. Let mixture sit overnight before dying.
Red-4tbs of freshly grated beets, 2/3 cup boiling water, and 1 tsp. of white vinegar. Mix together and begin dunking eggs immediately.
